The project, which won the design competition, was developed by Stancanelli Russo Associati s.r.l. in collaboration with One Works spa, Comma Engineering scarl, CLA studio ass., Melita Pennisi, Salvatore Palillo. The structure, created with the aim of creating an intermodal interchange hub for medium- and long-distance passenger transport, combines modern services for passenger reception and information with high architectural value and technologically advanced interventions.
The location of the new bus station in the vicinity of the airport, placed in direct relation with the future metro and railway stops and the availability of parking space, makes it possible to consider this node as an interchange HUB capable of rationalising the mobility system, increasing the quality of service, safety and reducing the impact on traffic and pollution.
