Project objectives

Vecchia Dimora is a countryside-tourism farmhouse in the hills of Enna, created by restoring a prestigious 20^th century building. A low-impact restoration project, oriented towards the preservation of the existing, was carried out using local materials.
The integration of the BIM method (Autodesk Revit) with specific structural calculation software (Concrete Sismicad) and plant design/performance software (MC4Software), allowed us to optimise the various phases of the project, thanks to the forecast of investment and processing times, and then followed by which continued to use BIM tools.

Our intervention

The interior space of the villa was remodelled in accordance with the nature of the building. In order to meet today’s standards of verification of air-lighting ratios, some elevations were also been marginally modified. The masonry was consolidated with “reinforced” plaster, consisting of natural hydraulic lime and Eco-Pozzolan, natural sands, special additives, microfibres and glass fibres (NHL).
Innovation and energy saving have set the pace for plant engineering. The installations were completely replaced and the energy requirements of the building were improved thanks to the building insulation, achieved through a newly insulated roof and high performance external windows with low emission double glazing.
In addition, in the outdoor solarium there is a canopy that houses the solar thermal system for the production of hot water to serve the swimming pool in summer and the flats in winter, compensating for the sophisticated system of storage tanks and high-efficiency boilers.
