The objectives of the work

The Adler Spa Resort – a refined tourist resort that the Stancanelli Group oversaw the project finalization, based on an architectural project by the Demetz Hugo & Alessia studio – rising approximately 60m above sea level, in the municipality of Siculiana, province of Agrigento, amidst the colours and scents of the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve. The main objective, on the basis of the architectural and landscape design, was to create a structure capable of integrating itself within the natural amphitheatre that hosts it, formed by the hillside overlooking the Mediterranean. The facility was thus made up of individual buildings, distributed over the entire surface of the lot, in order not to “obscure” the existing landscape profile.

Our Intervention

Green building, indigenous materials and sustainable solutions characterise the elegant and contemporary style of the resort, in symbiosis with its natural surroundings.
The resort covers approximately 64,500 square metres and consists of 2 blocks of 9 rooms and 6 blocks of 7 rooms, for a total of 108 rooms. All room blocks have access via internal corridors and are connected externally by footpaths. Equipped with every comfort for guests, the complex includes a restaurant on two levels, a wellness & spa centre, 3 interconnected service areas, a fitness room, a relaxation room and a block for indoor and outdoor pools. There is also a children’s area, a tavern, a second restaurant and a guesthouse.

Technical Pills

The great attention to sustainability and the rational use of renewable energies to minimise environmental impact characterised the project from the earliest planning stages. Today, the Adler Spa Resort can be considered as a virtuous example of good sustainable practices, for its ability to dialogue with nature and thanks to the choice of a new model of architecture that focuses on the use of natural autochthonous and biocompatible materials such as tuff stone, on the use of earthenware in the finishes, natural lime-based plasters, wood and stone flooring and cladding, wood frames and very low transmittance glazing, and on the creation of roof gardens, which also have an incisive effect on energy savings.
